In reference to the advertisement published in the newspapers i.e. HT Media Ltd, Dainik Bhaskar & Ajit (Punjabi) on dated 28.06.2019 regarding inviting online applications upto 31.08.2019 through a website www.nca-wcd.nic.in for two awards i.e. Bal Shakti Puraskar and Bal Kalyan Puraskar. 

This is to inform that the last date for submission of awards has been extended upto 30.09.2019 by the Government of India, Ministry of Women and Child Development, New Delhi.


The Govt. of India, Ministry Women and Child Development, New Delhi have invited online applications through a Portal/website www.nca-wcd.nic.in by 31st August, 2019 in the following two awards:-


These awards are to be given as recognition to children between the age of 5 years and not exceeding 18 years (as on 31st August of respective year) with exceptional abilities and outstanding achievement in the fields of innovation, scholastic, sports, arts & culture, social service and bravery which deserves recognition. Each awardee will be given a medal, a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000/- book vouchers worth Rs. 10,000/- a certificate and citation. 




a) Individual: These Awards are to be given who have attained the age of 18 years and above (as on 31st August of respective year) as recognition to individuals who have made an outstanding contribution towards service for children in the field of Child Development, Child Protection and Child Welfare for not less than seven years and have a positive impact on the lives of children. Salaried Officers of the Institutions will not be eligible. Each awardee will be given a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000/- a citation and a certificate. 

b) Institution: These awards are given to institutions who have done exceptional work in the field of Child Welfare for 10 years in any field of child welfare. The institutions should not be entirely funded by the Government. Each awardee will be given a cash prize of Rs. 5,00,000/- each, citation and a certificate.

The deserving children/persons/Institutions of Chandigarh who are desirous to be nominated for the above awards may submit their online applications through a website www.nca-wcd.nic.in by 31st August, 2019. The revised guideline is available on the Ministry's website i.e www.wcd.nic.in.




  • Applications are invited from the candidates giving full particulars alongwith copies of certificates/ testimonials as proof of age/ qualifications, experience etc. and one passport size photograph duly attested for one post of Lady Superintendent(Residential) on DC Rate revised from time to time. The eligibility conditions of age and qualifications are as under:-

Age:   18-37 years + relaxation as per Rules.

Qualifications:     Master’s Degree or equivalent from or recognized University in Social Work or Sociology or Psychology or Anthropology subject(s)

Emoluments:  Rs.26,870/- p.m. (D.C.Rate)

The applications duly completed in all respects with documentary proof should reach this office by 15.02.2019.  The date and time for interview/ test will be intimated separately. No TA/DA will be granted for attending the interview/ test. Candidates will bring all documentary proof regarding age, qualifications etc. at the time of test/ interview.

POSHAN Maah  Dated : 10/10/2018

POSHAN Maah was Celebrated throughout the country from 1st to 30th September, 2018 under the POSHAN Abhiyaan launched by the Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 8thMarch 2018

Poshan Abhiyaan (National Nutrition Mission) is India’s flagship programme to reduce stunting, under-nutrition, anemia (among young children, women and adolescent girls) to reduce low birth weight by 2%, to 3% per annum respectively and to intensify awareness generation on the importance of nutrition for health.

The Department of Social welfare Chandigarh Administration in convergence with line departments celebratedRashtriya POSHAN Maah with great enthusiasm and made it a Jan Andolan. Awareness  programmes  on all the Themes prescribed under POSHAN Abhiyaan were conducted throughout  UT Chandigarh. The aim of the program was to reach every household with the message of nutrition (Har Ghar Poshan Tyohaar) in the convergence with line departments.

The Ministry of Women and Child Developmentorganized a Poshan Maah Award Ceremony as part of Rashtrya Poshan Maah under Poshan Abhiyaan at Hotel Ashok, New Delhi on 10 th October 2018.The Ministry  gave awards to those States and UTs who successfully implemented the Poshan Maah activities in their areas. The Ministry of Women & Child Development has selected the officers/officials of U.T. Chandigarh for the Awards.
